Trails Update: August 8, 2025
whale of a tale
I sure hope your long weekend was as satisfying as mine (extra long!). After the longest possible ferry ride (40 whales!) I found myself up north, wayyyyy north! Checking out the Big Easy life surrounded by Leaping Lizards, Lava Fields and Hey Bear!!! It’s a veritable Shangri-La of new (to me) trails. Sweat drenched my Down Tube like Jack Nicholson in the Shining as I pushed to explore the Deep Bluff. I managed to escape the Hatchet Boy that chased me ‘Round the Mountain. I’m All Screwed Up! This vacation is giving me a Nervous Shakedown! In Remembrance, there was no danger he was wielding a Broken Axe. Up N At’em! I escaped this Apocalypse through the Backdoor to try my Lucky 7 in Burns Lake. I hope I don’t get Rim Fire… I better Huff N Puff to the Slaughterhouse for some Razorback Pork and Beans to enjoy on their NEXT LEVEL viewpoint benches. Huckin’Eh!
Other than that, I have nothing too exciting to report this week: the crew has been eating berries/fighting vegetation in the Alpine Meadows zone in anticipation of the Witsend and Hillman enduros. Sightlines have been improved on more trails than I could possibly write about or hyperlink here(!) Lower Westside Powerline trails were a Piece of Cake to clear so the crew made a Flashback, to Far Out in the Cheakamus zone…
Also: We’re all set for the Trailforks/Crankworx volunteer trail morning on August 12! We’ll be working on the Danimal South Blue Bypass (that probably needs a better name…) WORCA members can sign up here!
See you on the Trails!
