EVENT INFORMATION:
Put together by Richie Schley one of the world’s most respected Free-Riders and Grant Lamont who has helped put Whistler on the map as one of the best riding destinations on the globe, it promises to be something special. Space will be limited to 150 Riders with the person with the lowest accumulated time over the 3 timed trails declared the winner in 3 Categories Open Men/Women, Masters Men/Women(over 40) and Juniors(under 19). The profits from this event will go to the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association trail maintenance program along with providing ibuprofen money for these to old trail horses.
Rider’s will be faced with over 7,000 ft of all mountain riding off of the Flank Trail with huge rock faces, lush loamy single-track and some of the best flow on the planet. We almost wanted to call it Flankworx but our friends at WB think that this is a cool idea. All riders must access the 3 timed trails by climbing up to them so the choice of bikes will be key. None of the uphill sections will be timed but all riders will have a minimum time to reach the top of each trail for their allotted start time. The competition promises to be tough with all Richie’s DH and All Mountain bro’s taking on the local strongmen and women. We expect to see some of the World’s Best to compete as they are here for Crankworx and with this event on the Saturday before the Slopestyle we anticipate tons of fun and spirited competition.
The key to this event will be a solid all around riders who has the fitness for the climbs and the courage and skill on the descent.
The wrap up and awards presentation will take place at the Whistler Brewery where we will have the opportunity to try some fresh product and appetizers and view some of the great footage and imagery that will be happening during the day.
