Trails Update: September 26, 2025
schools out!!
Already? It is for my Whistler Adventure School students! They just finished this fall’s Sustainable Trail Building course. This session’s field work started with a bypass on Upper Business Time. We studied line selection, practiced benching while solving a punchy climb and water damage. “It’s all downhill now!” Rockwork and trail finishing was studied on the Rock Rabbit Elongated Experience…still doesn’t sound quite right. Bridge Building techniques took place on “Old Trainwreck”, by the highway. Coincidentally, that bridge represents the unofficial ground breaking on the Mystic-Function blue descent (which also needs a better name, by the way). That trail will ultimately lead riders to our solid new bridge, and all of the goodies available in Function Junction!
danimal south project
Volunteers completed an important segment of the Rock Rabbit thingy on Sunday Dig Morning…Separating Danimal South from the Rabbit Blue Line to eliminate a high speed intersection. It was fun to work through steeper, tighter terrain! We also made progress on the Blue Line. The overnight downpour made the dirt perfect for capping and packing. Jackson and Beckham were fully committed to steamrolling the fresh dirt! Serendipitously, the first customers through the new line were super volunteers Zach, Terry and Sam who literally showed up just as I took down the trail closed sign! This week's sponsor was Delish Cafe/Whistler Grocery and they fed the crew delicious sandwiches and we once again thank Coast Mountain Brewing for the fine selection of suds! Our next Dig Morning should end with a ribbon cutting… Chromag invites WORCA members to join us on Sunday Oct 5 for the final works to complete this project! Sign up here!
See you on the Trails!
