BC Parks is preparing management plans for nine protected areas in the Lillooet area. The provincial parks in the area were newly designated or enlarged. The South Chilcotin Mountains Park (previously named Spruce Lake Protected Area) and Big Creek Park plan is currently open for public comment and closes on May 22, 2016. During the summer months WORCA holds youth dirt camps, fully coached and supported for three different ages ranging from 6 to 15. The focus of the Dirt Camps is safety, fun, and mountain bike skill development, in that order. Your son or daughter will be encouraged to develop in all three of these areas. We had such a great turn out at last week's 'final' Trail Night that we're doing another Final Trail Night!
Trail days are a great way to give back to the trails we all love to ride. No experience is necessary, instruction and tools will be provided. Please bring a good pair of work gloves, tools if you have them, otherwise they will be provided, and water. For more information, click here.

Superstar Trail Volunteers
This season we ran 17 volunteer trail evening/morning sessions and 3 Trail Weekends. With 147 individuals
amounting to more than 1130 man-hours or the equivalent of 28.25 x 40 hour weeks! A HUGE thanks go out to all those who
came out to lend a hand building new trail and maintaining our existing network. Your dedication is appreciated.

The WORCA AGM marks the presentation of the Lumpy Award which this year was presented by Youth Director Craig Mackenzie with Lumpy's parents, Gordon and Carleen Leidal, in attendance.
'Geoff "Lumpy" Leidal was a local athlete who was killed in an avalanche in 1998. In his honor, the Lumpy Leidal Award is presented each year to a local junior who has been found outstanding as a sportsperson, a volunteer and someone who epitomizes athleticism in our local youth. ' Source.

Tuesday, September 22, 5pm - 8pm. Pop by with your bike for any light teching requirements; the price tag for the fixes is by donation on site to WORCA.
Each donation also grants you an entry to a draw for one of two downhill day rental bike vouchers from Fanatyk Co. (armour not included).
