Last night we wrapped up the 2010 Kokanee PhaSt Wednesday Season. This time we took the literal translation and has a “fast” course of Fantastic to Crank It Up to Lower Whistler Downhill to B-Line. 138 competitors came out proving that Crankworx didn’t tire us all out. The fastest man of the night was Kenny Smith with a time of 2:54.66. Not far behind was the winner of the Junior Male category, Ollie Gregory-Jones with a time of 2:58.08 and Master winner, Bart Brown posting a time of 2:59.11. Sarah Leishman, back from a shoulder injury, returned to the top of the women’s podium with a time of 3:12.66 and Luana Auer won the Junior Female category at 3:28.60. Once again we were back on the GLC patio with ice cold Kokanees for awards and prizes.

This week also determined the Season Champions for the Kokanee PhaSt Wednesday Series. Each race points were awarded with 100 points for a first place finish, 80 for 2nd, 60 for 3rd and so forth. This years Champions are:

• Junior Male Champion – Ollie Gregory-Jones
• Female Champion – Brook Baker
• Master Male Champion – Chris Dewar
• Male Champion – Kenny Smith.

We have 1 more race left this season. Following tradition we will finish the Kokanee Phat Wednesday Series with a Chainless A-Line race. Costumes are always appreciated and rewarded with the GLC offering gift certificates for best costumes! Remember we are capping riders at 200 so get there early and if you didn’t race this week, get your WORCA membership online to make registration quicker. This week the first 150 will also receive a FREE Sram chain. Registration will be same as always; the Garbanzo Bike and Bean patio @ 5 pm and race starting @ 6 pm and Awards and prizes at the GLC.
