WORCA Bike Swap
With the mega success of our Annual Bike SWAP, WORCA has decided to work on some changes this year. Don’t worry, we’ll still be selling your wares and helping you find a sweet new (to you) ride, but there are some key things that we’ll be changing up to help iron out some wrinkles we’ve had in the past.
Dates
The SWAP has traditionally been held the last weekend in April on the last day of Creekside Base operations. This has been great for traffic but as we expand each year we find we’re running out of room. We’ve also found that we’re conflicting with the TSSF concert schedule - no one wants to miss the last sunny concert line-up! With the Creekside Gondola’s last day of operations set at April 19th this year and the TSSF running through April 26th we’ve decided to push the event one week into the first weekend in May. Mark your calendars for May 2nd 2009!
Venue
We’re outgrowing the Creekside Base but with no lift line to deal with we might just fit this year. Stay tuned - we are considering moving to the parking lots for more exposure but this is just an idea!
Money Back Guarantee!!
One of the great things about the SWAP has always been that you can get your money just hours after your bike has been sold. While this is great for you (we know, we sell our bikes too!), it’s a huge nightmare for our Treasurer and our bank account. With almost 50% of our sales being run through on Credit Card we are now experiencing a hold on funds from our bank. This means that when we cut you a cheque, we are fronting the money til the CC companies clear. In the past this hasn’t been an issue since we were holding a ‘balance’. This year, thanks to Jeromes efforts at spending our money on Trails last summer, we don’t have the money! We are looking at a holding period for payment and will do what we can to make it work for you. It will be structured very much like the Ski SWAP. Again, more details will be shared as soon as we have confirmed a system.
